Wellhead Protection Area (WHPA) is the merge of all the WHPA zones (WHPA-A, WHPA-B, WHPA-C, WHPA-D, WHPA-E, WHPA-F, WHPA-C1).This feature is designated as an outline of the outermost WHPA and is generally used in conjunction with underlying data. It was designed as a quick method of identifying the WHPA outline, and is intended to be an overlay with any independant feature. It is formally described as the surface and subsurface area surrounding a water well or well field that supplies a municipal residential system or other designated system through which contaminants are reasonably likely to move so as to eventually reach the water well or well. |
